Nino Burjanadze – Subar’s statement was either insincere, incompetent or a slander.
While commenting on the statement of the Minister of Internally
Displaced Persons Sozar Subar who stated that it is impossible for
oppositional parties to carry out pre-electoral campaigns in
regions without serious finances, Nino Burjanadze stated that
Subar’s statement was either insincere, incompetent or a slander.
According to Burjanadze, hiding donations is not in the interest of
political parties as, according to electoral regulatons, a
political party which receives more than half million in donations
will have its expenses reimbursed from the state budget.
“Subar’s statement was either insincere, incompetent or a slander.
Political party which will cross the electoral threshold will have
its expenditure reimbursed if it spends more than GEL 500,000. If
the Georgian Dream is explicating its high volume of donations
through the so-called ‘free businesses’, it is interesting what
will happen to a businessman who will openly side with the
Democratic Movement and donate the money to the party?”
